Scammers on Social Media

Scammers on social media have become a huge deal to the younger audience. About a week ago, one of my friends got a DM from a random person on TIKTOK. This person was offering her free money, and as any teenager would, she took the money. Soon after putting it into her account, her phone was blowing up with text messages from the scammer. Essentially hacking her phone. Turned out the money wasnt real and the scammer basically scammed her. Getting a bunch of her information through this “free money” scam. Ways to tell if its fake or real, is by looking through the account to see if they have real or fake followers. Also seeing if they have any post up what so ever. This way you can tell if its a real person or not. Or a scammer pretending to offer you money, but using it as a way to hack into your phone and get data.
